D&D Spell Slots:
Calculates available spell slots based on class and level according to D&D rules.
Spell slots represent the magical energy a character can expend to cast spells in Dungeons & Dragons. Different classes gain spell slots at different rates and have access to different maximum spell levels.
Spell slots are divided by spell level (1st through 9th). When you cast a spell, you expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. Higher level spells require higher level slots.
Full Casters: (Bard, Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard) gain spell slots at the fastest rate, reaching 9th level spells.
Half Casters: (Paladin, Ranger) gain spell slots at half their class level, with slower progression.
Instructions: Select your character's class and level (1-20). The calculator will show your available spell slots for each spell level.
Q1: Can I cast lower level spells with higher slots?
A: Yes, you can always use a higher level slot to cast a lower level spell.
Q2: What about Warlocks?
A: Warlocks use Pact Magic which works differently (fewer but recovering slots).
Q3: How does multiclassing affect slots?
A: Multiclassing follows special rules not covered by this calculator.
Q4: What if my class doesn't appear?
A: This calculator covers core spellcasting classes. Some classes (like Warlock) use different systems.
Q5: Do cantrips use slots?
A: No, cantrips can be cast at will without expending spell slots.
